Online survey on 'Review of Participatory Land Use/Resource Planning Tools and Approaches'
The Land Resources Planning (LRP) Secretariat is conducting an online survey on 'Review of Participatory Land Use/Resource Planning Tools and Approaches'. The main goal of the survey is to identify needs of different groups of users and practitioners in land resource planning.
Around the world, much of the agricultural land is degraded and the systematic assessment of land potential and alternatives for optimal land use and improved economic and social conditions is essential to support smallholder farmers and their livelihoods. The Land resources planning (LRP) tools help the decision makers to adopt appropriate options for the use of land resources based on their natural potential and hence avoiding unsustainable exploitation and prevent further degradation.
The survey will help in identifying main gaps and opportunities to develop a demand-driven participatory land resources planning toolkit to support stakeholders at all levels of the planning process. Below, you can find some background information about the survey.
Land users/farmers, farmers’ organizations, government organizations and practitioners from different levels are invited to fill in the survey and/or to forward this invitation to their colleagues.
The online survey is available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish and can be accessed by clicking on the relevant link:
The survey runs until 20 February 2017.
The Land Resources Planning (LRP) Secretariat is thanking you in advance for your time and support.
